Protecting your property with Closed Circuit TV
A Closed Circuit TV system is there when you can't be. CCTV cameras were once used strictly as observation devices, but today they are an integrated part of an interactive system. Cameras can be used indoors and out, can be controlled by hand or by motion detector, and can send real-time images straight to a computer or record activity for days at a time. Let’s take a look at what today’s sophisticated CCTV systems can do.

CCTV Camera - Indoors
When monitored properly, an indoor camera can protect against property loss, insurance fraud and wasted employee hours. A fixed camera, which is the least expensive option, uses a fixed focal lens to monitor one area, such as a doorway. A zoom lens-equipped camera will remain aimed in one direction but allows for greater detail, such as at a cash register. A unitized camera is the most sophisticated option, offering zoom, auto-focus and the ability to pan left or right or tilt up or down. A 5-inch, colored plastic dome over the unitized camera prevents individuals from seeing where the camera is pointed

CCTV Camera - Outdoors

An outdoor camera allows for the earliest detection of an intrusion by monitoring the perimeter. An outdoor camera can also provide a level of external safety to employees or visitors, and it can be used to limit theft when installed outside warehouse doors, for example. Outdoor cameras are typically equipped with pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities; known as PTZ cameras.

CCTV outdoor cameras need protection against weather elements. For this reason, the cameras are usually housed inside two types of protective housing units: domes or fixed housing.

Domes are typically used for PTZ cameras to cover the widest possible area. A dome will also not reviele at which direction the camera is pointed.

Fixed Housing Unit are typically used for fixed cameras and provide the maximum protection.

CCTV Camera Controllers
The controller is a joystick or keyboard based at the control station that allows the user to pan, tilt and zoom the camera in order to track a person or vehicle indoors or outdoors. Modern cameras have the ability to sense motion or the lack of motion (for example, the lack-of-motion sensor would detect a suspicious stationary object like a suitcase placed outside of the building), record the activity or inactivity, and/or alert the security manager to take action.

SecuTronic uses the quality collections of CCTV cameras, camera housing units, and controllers from Siemens, Dedicated Micros, and Pelco.
